‘The Mama-Logues: A Comedy About Motherhood’ Is Back and Better Than Ever!

Performance Makes Its Second Mark in the Columbia Gorge,  Going Live May 11 at Springhouse Cellars,  Benefiting One Community Health

HOOD RIVER, Ore., May 3, 2017 — Back for a second year in a row, “The Mama-Logues, A Comedy About Motherhood!” is scheduled to hit the stage soon at Springhouse Cellars on Thursday, May 11, giving lots of local ladies—and any interested, brave lads—a super excuse to come down for a night of serious laughs, great local wine and other delicious beverages.

Written for anyone who is a mom, has a mom, or knows a mom, “The Mama-Logues” is a rip-roaring comedy and semi-musical performance put on by a troupe of incredibly gifted, volunteer actors. Each year, the cast writes totally unique content for the show. As it travels the Pacific Northwest, the performance remains relevant and fresh, drawing back loyal fans and winning over new followers alike.

“Our cast is almost all returning from last year with two new people joining in the fun,” says Rita Pinchot of White Salmon, who has been acting in the show for four years and helps bring it to the Columbia River Gorge. “We're mostly just a bunch of moms and good people who like to get together, have a good time, share stories about the ridiculous journey we call ‘parenthood,’ and keep it real. Although our cast is a bunch of amateurs and entirely volunteer, this year we do have a new director, Montana von Fliss, who has loads of professional experience—so watch out!”

With 25 years of experience acting on stage and screen, not to mention a successful career as a professional speech and presentation coach, von Fliss (http://www.montanavonfliss.com/) is sure to add her mark, helping the actors make an even bigger impression on this year’s audience. The show’s proceeds, which traditionally benefit a nonprofit that empowers healthy families and childbirth, will support One Community Health’s (OCH) perinatal program. With a commitment to helping all members of its community, OCH has become known for its compassionate, high-quality team-based approach to integrated health care.

“Our perinatal program works closely with its patients, providing them with comprehensive prenatal and postnatal services, regardless of ability to pay,” says David Edwards, OCH’s CEO. “Given this, you can imagine how exciting it is for us when such a talented group of performers chooses to highlight and support the efforts we’re making in our region. It’s wonderful and very humbling as well.”

The show’s host, Springhouse Cellars, will have wine and other beverages available for purchase. Whether making this a great excuse for a ladies night out, date night, or simply breaking from your usual evening repertoire, the “Mama-Logues” won’t disappoint! Reserve your seat soon, as tickets purchased in advance are $5 less than at the door, and last year’s event was a packed house.
